Fish and Ships is a mobile party game playable on local network, where you'll have to communicate with your fellow pirates to manage problems on a chaotic ship.

WHAT I'VE DONE
NETWORK ARCHITECTURE
One of our challenges was to design the network architecture for the players' movements, taking into account all possible scenarios, such as latency that sometimes caused 2 players arriving on the same tile.
We were able to solve this problem by managing player movements locally and preventing other players from arriving on an occupied tile.

DIEGETIC MENUS
For the game menus, I decided to create diegetic screens and interfaces using the ship's hold. With camera movements to transition between the different screens.
I was able to reuse the various assets already produced to create lively menu screens.

LEVEL DESIGN
To encourage communication between players, we've divided the level design into 2 separate areas, the ship's hold and deck.
We've also designed new mechanics, such as pressure plates and ice, to force players to help each other. These mechanics have enabled us to create lots of varied and fun levels.

MINI GAMES
To make full use of the possibilities offered by mobile phones, we wanted to set up workshops where players would have to complete mini-games.
We designed these mini-games to use the phone's gyroscope to perform different actions, such as aiming a cannon.
